Tips on building a web site:

Do not use .bmp (Bitmap) images. They take forever to load.
Too many graphics on a page will take too long to load.
It's better to have a shorter main page and link your other things off of that.
Do not use spaces in your file names.

Building a web site/pages:

Web pages are actually two dimensional. When you see a page on the Internet, it is like looking at the outer "skin". Behind that is the "muscle" which is the html (hypertext markup language) code. Because of software like FrontPage, etc. you no longer have to know html code, but being familiar with it will help you troubleshoot problems.
