~ GOD BLESS THE USA ~

If tomorrow all the things were gone
And I had to start again
with just my children and my wife,
to be living here today,
'Cause the flag still stands for freedom
I'm proud to be an American
where at least I know I'm free,
who gave that right to me,
And I gladly stand up next to you
'Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land
God bless the USA
to the hills of Tennessee,
Across the plains of Texas
From Detroit down to Houston
and New York to L.A.,
and it's time we stand and say:
I'm proud to be an American
And I won't forget the men who died
who gave that right to me,
and defend her still today,
'Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land
God bless the USA.

One

As the soot and dirt and ash rained down,
We became one color.

As we carried each other down the stairs of the burning building,
We became one class.

As we lit candles of waiting and hope,
We became one generation.

As the firefighters and police officers
fought their way into the inferno,
We became one gender.

As we fell to our knees in prayer for strength,
We became one faith.

As we whispered or shouted words of encouragement,
We spoke one language.

As we gave our blood in lines a mile long,
We became one body.

As we mourned together the great loss,
We became one family.

As we cried tears of grief and loss,
We became one soul.

As we retell with pride of the sacrifice of heroes,
We become one people.

We are

One color
One class
One generation
One gender
One faith
One language
One body
One family
One soul
One people

We are The Power of One.
We are United.
We are America.

Help us keep the light of hope alive.
September 11th was a horrible day in the life of this nation and the world.  I doubt that any of us will ever forget the images or the feelings of fear, anger, and helplessness that we all experienced.   There have been many fundraisers and other events organized to provide monetary support to the families of those who lost loved ones.  Red, white & blue ribbons are being worn by many people to show their respect of our country.   Beautiful web pages are springing up all over the place honoring the lives of those who were lost and patriotism is at an all time high.
