INFO:

· The club meets every Saturday Night at 7 PM. The location is 330 Main Street in Oconto (the site of the old hobby shop).

· There are no monthly or yearly dues. Instead, the members pay $2.00 for every time they show up. Junior members are $1.00. Rather than paying a larger up front cost, we look at it as a cheap night out.

· The name comes from the Machickanee forest near Stiles Jct. WI. The Splinter Creek runs by the clubs layout could not be worked into the new layout. So it now lives on at one of the members home layouts. The other blast from the past was the presence of the Wisconsin & Michigan’s old trestle. Sadly, this also could not be worked into the new layout. It is still waiting for a good homeformer home in Stiles.

· The Club adapted the Milwaukee Road’s logo into it’s own to honor the former main (now ELS) that ran past the old club house.

· The Club colors and paint schemes are based on the Milwaukee Road"s. The colors have been changed from Orange, Black, Maroon, and Grey to Red, Black, Maroon, and Silver.

· The Club is building a new layout and is currently under construction. The Preacher Lake scene from the old.

The new layout scheme:

The club decieded that a large traveling layout was no longer a direction that we wanted to go in. So we are building a new perniment layout is being built. There is talk of building a small traveling layout to take to shows. Something someone could put in the back of a Pick-up Truck or Van. Posibly using a different scale.

· The bottom level will be dedicated to the Milwaukee Road’s line from Stiles, WI to Crivitz, Wi including the branch line into Marinette,WI.

· The top level will be dedicated to the Chicago & Northwestern’s line from Oconto, WI to Peshtigo, WI

· Only the "flavor" of the above areas will be modeled. We won’t be trying to build a "board for board" of Oconto.

· Time frame will remain the 1950’s (steam and desiel)
