The Hiawatha #1 in Stambough, MI. This head frame stood until just a few years ago.

Both the MILW and C&NW served this mine.

The Hiawatha #2 mine in Stambough, MI was just a stones through from the #1.

This mine was also served by the MILW and CNW. The head frame has been gone

for many years.

The Homer / Wauseca Shaft in Iron River, MI. The head frame and machine shops are still

standing. All tracks and loaders are long gone.

The Bristol Mine in Crystal Falls, MI. Some out buildings are still standing, but the head frame is now gone.

The C&NW coal tower in Stambough, MI circa 1938. Both the C&NW and MILW engines could be seen here.

The big Alcos are long gone, but I still have the 1975 Chevy Vega!!

....and it still runs too, but now it has collector plates. :)
